Muay Thai is now an Olympic Sport. New Name change

The United States Muaythai Federation (USMF) has formally changed its name to USA Muaythai™ – a name that has been used to describe the national federation since the International Olympic Committee (IOC) granted Muaythai provisional recognition in November of 2016. The name change aligns the Muaythai federation with other national Olympic recognized sports organizations. “While the name is not new to our Muaythai community, the official name change marks the beginning of a new era. Already in 2023, USA Muaythai™ established a new Board of Directors comprised of a diverse group of respected professionals and we also achieved United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) recognition as the governing body for Muaythai in the United States. We are focused on our vision of unification and growth of our sport,” said USA Muaythai™ President, Michael Corley. The name change is effective immediately as documentation and records are revised to reflect the official change. About the USA Muaythai™ USA Muaythai™, formerly United States Muaythai Federation (USMF), is a 501c3 Non Profit and the USOPC governing body for Muaythai in the United States.
